Full process fertilization plan for apples

The whole growth period requires a large amount of fertilizer, and for every 100kg of apples produced, it is necessary to absorb 0.25-0.3kg of N, P2O5 0.03-0.05kg,K2O 0.3-0.5kg, As a typical nitrogen and potassium loving crop, the ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizer is N: P2O5: K2O=2:1:2.

The absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium by apples varies at different growth stages, with the highest absorption rate of nitrogen occurring in the early stage of sprouting; Potassium exhibits a higher absorption rate during both fruit enlargement and optimal fruit stage. The nutritional requirements of apple trees vary depending on their age, with N: P2O5: K2O=1:2:1 or 1:1:1 for young trees; Initial fruiting period N: P2O5: K2O=1:1:1; The peak fruit period N: P2O5: K2O=2:1:2, and the renewal aging period N: P2O5: K2O=2:1:1. Therefore, in the fertilization process, the fertilization plan should be comprehensively considered based on the nutritional level of the tree, growth period and bearing capacity, as well as the fertility level of the soil, in order to achieve scientific and effective fertilization.

The nutrition of apple trees during the peak fruit period can be divided into three major stages: nutrient storage stage (mid September to the end of November), utilization of storage nutrition stage (early spring thawing to mid to late May), and utilization of annual nutrition stage (around mid to late May to mid September). The root system has three growth and development peaks, from early April to mid May in spring, from June to July in summer, and from October to November in autumn. Each peak is the golden period for fertilization, and the fertilizer absorption and utilization rate will be relatively high.

Nutrition plan for apple young trees:

In the first year after planting, in mid September (early spring planting or autumn planting of the previous year), apply 0.5 kg of 15-15-15 potassium sulfate compound fertilizer and 2 kg of organic fertilizer to each tree.

In the second year after planting, apply half a kilogram of 15-15-15 nitrate sulfur based compound fertilizer to each tree in mid June, and 1 kilogram of 15-15-15 potassium sulfate type compound fertilizer and 2 kilograms of organic fertilizer to each tree in mid September.
